Landing in a mess of muddled realists was Elijah's nightmares come alive.
A 'con'-gregation. Dissatisfaction in a nutshell.
And little girls rang wiry with noises like dry ice on silver plated plastic. The clock ticked more deliberately here.
Someone said the stock market had crashed again and didn't notice the funny shaped stone in the wall.
There were faces seeming to droop below themselves, like a left ball sack compared to a right.
The atmosphere was thick with not enough and so in an attempt to pull free from this heavy net of essential knowledge, Elijah turned to witness a small spider create string art in the crevice of that stair
And when expressions of concern tripped right over Elijah with a hard sole shoe in the heart he, without lowering phone from ear, shouted 'typical' as he walked away.

Un-inspiring Short Stories - The Cassowary and the Penguin.
"Catch me" called the Cassowary to the Penguin as he leaped from the branch, flapping sporadically and, once again, landing neck first onto his friend below.
"We're wasting our time," decided the Penguin as he brushed himself off and began to make his way up the tree. "You cannot fly and neither can I".
"Well, what else do you want to do?" questioned Cassowary with a neck bent right.
So they stood and they looked at one another, and their minds ticked over..

Un-inspiring Short Stories - B's opportunity
Tainted by the speckled allure of a bus drivers fury.
B rolled into desk and papers, began to wallow and his fingers, they went to work as his thoughts were lost in the air somewhere.
B's dreaming of the fast wind, the loud feelings and of breaking clocks.
And then the noise happens.
Like a branch fallen on the track, B's mind is torn from the wild ride to face the whip end of those spoken words. "...ired, have your desk cleared by 6."
B took the long route home by foot, via the new cemetery and the old bmx track.
His feet were drawling week yet a feeling so electric held him dancing along the fence line and B wallowed in the beautiful fury of freedom,
all the way to house and child.
And B's son had drawn a picture for him, with all the colours
of shifted opportunity.

Uninspiring Short Stories - Lizzie's Enigmatical Significance to the Doctor of Reason.
The hot water only burnt her goose bumpy skin.
Doctor Bloodhound looked sideways at the girl, toasted and shivering in the water. 'Miss Elizabeth Ard, if I may..' and Doctor B held out the stethoscope in Liz's direction.
'Your confusion exceeds me doctor'. Miss Ard guarded her body. 'You cannot fix what is made of unfixings, and you cannot make right of that which has rights to be wrong.'
The doctor settled back in his chair, scratched his chin and took in a deep breath to realign his vertebrae.
Lost but not forgotten
Was the day he gave up indifference for reason.

Uninspiring Short Stories - Casual Agency
A minor misconception had the mirror turning blue
and Casual Agency felt that hook of guilt lodged deep in his throat.
It was not a competition
anymore.
Cas had just assumed
and consumed his own foul words in a fit of glory and demise.
And the mirror is a foreigner,
stained blue, far and misconstrued.

Uninspiring Short Stories - Blank Sirens
As that incessant whining of the siren fills the cabs inner hustle of purpose, blank can't help but feel pained by the hatred for his job.
"I just cannot sympathize a great purpose to the rush of saving the lives of those who (most likely) have put themselves in the line of their own ultimate predicaments"
Blank only ever expressed his true feelings towards the job to those he knew weren't going the make it.
Only this time,
Blank was outlived by the man dying beneath fast sirens.
For that was blanks last standing hour in a cureless life gone sour.

Tom Waits voice
Like an orgasm of sharp gravel over a predetermined itch.
Like smooth chocolate
Hard whiskey truth.
Blue smoke from the shadows of an unnoticed corner.
Jagged nails over softened skin.
Hitting cold polished concrete and then
slowly
Sliding
Down
and sinking
into
A wet serenity

Like cool water over hot skin.
Like the full body exhaled calm of bladder relief.
Bedtime stories
And sinking into the softest pillow of a dreamers embrace.

Knowledge?
Sometimes I get so excited about knowledge that I become overwhelmed with the excitement of learning and loose concentration on what I am learning and therefore miss out on learning because I was too busy being excited about the potential for knowledge.

Uninspiring Short Stories - the Culinary Bovine Poultry Swine Fest
And so the 'Culinary Bovine Poultry Swine Fest' - the CBPSF - was happening again, as it does on the 17th weekend of the year, every year,
and miss Larna Codface was exceedingly nauseated at the mear sight of the sign.
"How can you people consume a formerly live creature like that?!" she squealed to a nearby crowd of enthusiasts, 'those animals had liiiives like you and I!'
But the crowd seemed too busy chowing down on their beef taco's and ham sandwiches to bother with rebuttal, so much so that they all appeared to be scuffling around on top of one another to get to the meat stands for more. Like pigs around a trough.
And so Larna abruptly turned her Codface and went home, the long way, with the resentful smell of torn flesh clinging to her autumn dress.
On approach to the door to her home, a carrot welcomed her as broccoli lounged on the couch and a mushroom exited the bathroom saying, "Everyone. I suggest avoiding the loo for at LEAST the next half hour." Some bugs began screaming under broccoli's sprouts and the bacteria on carrots skin ran circles in the excitement. Larna never ate again.

Uninspiring Short Stories - Sister Won't You
'Sister, will you join me for a stroll through the park?
'Brother that would be too dangerous, what if branches were to fall?'
'Sister then, won't you join me for an outing to the beach?'
'The beach? Brother, are you mad?! Our imminently melanoma ridden bodies will be shark snacks by noon!
'Come then sister, let us have a quiet drink at the bar?'
She's shaking her head almost drearily. 'I do not drink brother. Alcohol is bad for ones health.'
So Jack leaves, get depressingly drunk, dives into the sea and has his right arm devoured by a shark. He's bleeding like crazy, the alcohol has thinned his blood. The ambo's roar down Carrington Street, sirens shieking. Jack is in the back as an oak branch ahead cracks, falls, crushes the front end of the ambulance.
…3 days later and freshly discharged, Jack visits his sister again at her home.
The door is unbarred, tv moaning low. She is dead in her arm chair. A police officer hits the box switch mid infomercial and the coroner jots down death by boredom.

Uninspiring Short Stories - Sad Songstress Lady Dolltamer
'Indecisive on a level of unlikely proportions'.
The recent description given to Sad Songstress Lady Dolltamer was enough to force reality onto a multi-fictional mind.
'if I cannot be many and must be only one' she sang low to herself,
'one must be many at once',
'one many must only be many as one',
'oh sorrow suppression oh strain,
for they do not know a trifle half'
'having so many many's and only one life time for art'.

Uninspiring Short Stories - Selfless Barry
It was 17 years to the date
after the day which is marked on Selfless Barry's dairy as
'the beginning of the rest of life'.
Though it was no day for celebrations.
Selfless buried his head in his hands and weeped and imagined sinking into the earth. Sinking through
the old chair,
through the old carpet,
the old dirt
and into the earth to remain.
Out of sight, out of mind.
For there was not a single relevant event In which Selfless Barry's life had been a part of
since that optimistic day 17 years before now.

Uninspiring Short Stories - For Instance Doctor
'Well, for instance doctor.. When I drive down a road, it could be any road. The memories which are held to that road are many, from any and every past life lived.
Happy memories,
sad memories,
Indifferent,
and they CROWD me so. It's like I can't breathe doctor.
No longer can I BE anywhere, GO anywhere,
and feel the peace of a new day.'
'Ahm'. The doctor let out a slight noise to acknowledge the time and looked towards the clock on the wall.
'Will it be the same time tomorrow then?'

I Saw A Lady Today...
I saw a lady today notice an old couple walk by hand in hand and It made her smile, and it made me smile as I watched the lady's face as she watched the old couple and was flooded with happiness. I later wondered whether any one had through me become spellbound at the magic of that old couple.

Uninspiring Short Stories - The Grasshopper in the Morning Dew
It was half twelve and the morning dew was still holding to those blades of grass, holding on as if life depended on it.
The grasshopper stared on at the little droplets for some time.
She was diving for memories, pulling them clear to the surface.
She was remembering a time when those very droplets had reflected in her eyes and caught the inspiration of her love.
Her eyes began to sparkle now... Though not with reflections of a dew but of a salty water in which she could not remember the meaning.

Uninspiring Short Stories - The Plan of Count Mocking Bird
7 hour train ride to a place unknown.
No plan of when to return. No plan of whether to return at all.
This was the plan of Count Mocking Bird.
Though sadly for he, she was back at half 3 with their young and a box full of smiles.

Uninspiring Short Stories - Where He Is
'No one knows where I am.' He thought to himself.
'No one in the world knows where I am at this very moment.'
Smiling a little smile of serene happy, he stopped, looked up at the sky.... and then down at his IPhone, saw the satellite tracking to the nearest tower and heard the sound of crying nobodies posting updates on their whereabouts.
